Pompeii was a city on the East Coast of Italy which was buried under volcanic ash following the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 CE. Everything under the ash was preserved and ultimately excavated by archeologists over the last century. We have an excellent archeological record of what life was like in this ancient Italian city, and from that we have constructed a set of recipes that evoke the spirit of what dinner might have been like the night before the volcano erupted. We invite you to join us for this fascinating exploration of the food of ancient Italy.
