Join us in the kitchen for an interactive cooking class focusing on the cuisine of the Ming Dynasty in China. We will create dishes that might have been served in the Forbidden City, which is at the center of the Imperial City in Beijing, China. It was the residence of over 24 Chinese Emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties for over 500 years.
The focus of the style of cuisine in the Ming Dynasty was that of health. All cooking was designed to be harmonious with the body and healthy to eat, with somewhat of a focus on vegetables. Like all imperial cuisine, it also took advantage of the most expensive ingredients available. In this case, we will use ingredients from the farm and the valley to create a delicious meal, which we will then sit down and enjoy.
