At Elkstone Farm, we hand select our three favorite varieties of kale for a colorful custom blend. Winterbor kale features hardy, finely curled green leaves, while Redbor has ruffled leaves in striking shades of magenta and purple. Our flat-leaf kale variety, Toscano, has dark green, tender leaves with a lovely savoyed texture.
Kale is one of the most multifaceted members of the vegetable kingdom and can be enjoyed in salads, sautés, braises, soups, stir-frys, smoothies, and even turned into pesto! This hard-working leafy green tastes even better when prepared with ingredients like nuts, avocados, cranberries, salty cheeses, quinoa, garlic, olive oil, pancetta, tahini and eggs.
Kale will stay fresh in a ziplock or reusable produce bag lined with a dry paper towel. Gently squeeze out air and keep the bag half open.
